Exploring the Cosmos in Ubisoft's Star Wars Outlaws: A First Look

During the Ubisoft Forward, Star Wars Outlaws was presented with a 10-minute glimpse of its gameplay, revealing an impressive look at travel and battle in the cosmos.

The latest exposition at Ubisoft Forward provided enthusiasts a comprehensive preview of the eagerly awaited expansive game, Star Wars Outlaws, set in the Star Wars cosmos, courtesy of Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment. This included an exciting showcase of space exploration and combat capabilities.

In the footage shared, we follow the main character, Kay Vess, on a quest to Mos Eisley in pursuit of a renowned marksman. Her journey begins at Achra Station, an old relic of the Clone Wars era, now a bustling nexus for the shadowy trade of space contraband. The video hints at a rich interaction with a variety of characters, though details were limited.

The highlight for many is witnessing Kay embark into the abyss of space. From the docking bay at Achra Station, she traverses to her vessel and slips into the pilot's seat, launching into the cosmic expanse without delay.

The footage illustrated a fluid transition from the confines of the station to the vast openness of space, notably without the interruption of loading screens, whether darting through hyperspace or descending into planetary atmospheres.

Additionally, the presentation delved into the dynamics of third-person space skirmishes. Encountering hostile forces or tracking down targets allows for nimble navigation and the unleashing of firepower from the spaceship's arsenal.

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders are currently open.

While the core of Star Wars Outlaws is a solo journey, two narrative-driven expansions are slated to follow its release. Among them is Jabba’s Gambit, a special mission accessible from day one that involves the infamous gangster.
